Peer Support
In our school, we believe it is important to support and guide each other. We provide opportunities for our children to do this, as well as the staff. Year 6 and Reception are paired together and become Special Friends. Some of the children in KS1 and KS2 are selected to take on the role of becoming a Young Leader and provide support at lunchtimes. In Year 1 and Year 5, the children are paired to become Reading Buddies, and have time to read together. All the children in our school, are taught from an early age, to help and support each other, and regularly take part in peer-assessment in their lessons to help each other on their learning journey. Our staff also support each other and value the importance of this. We go for a team approach when leading the curriculum areas and coaching sessions are available for staff. Our recognition with the Platinum Investors in People Award celebrates the cohesiveness of the staff team.
